Sasha González is a Mexican actress, athlete, and singer originally from Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco. A rising star in Mexico’s entertainment industry, González is known for her work in HBO Max’s hit series VGLY, now in its second season under the direction of Sebastián Sariñana, and Netflix’s The Thursday Night Widows, directed by Alberto Hinojosa.
González developed her passion for the arts at a very young age. At 13, she began her professional training at the Academia de Baile del Valle in Tepic, Nayarit. Two years later, she moved to Bahía de Banderas, where she developed skills in sailing, diving, surfing, and other ocean activities/experiences that remain an important part of her identity as an artist and athlete.
At 15, González began modeling, becoming the face of several local swimwear brands and opening the door to commercial and independent film work. She later began her acting career in Puerto Vallarta theater, performing in musicals including Little Shop of Horrors and Chicago, while also showcasing her talents as a soprano vocalist in I Got Rhythm and as a dancer in Cinderella.
In 2019, González was recognized by Voguein its special edition celebrating Proud, Authentic and Powerful Mexicans. In 2020, she made her feature-film debut under director Michael Rowe in Mar de Fondo, starring alongside Demián Bichir, Lisa Owen, and Marco Treviño. She has continued to work across film and television, including The Silence of the Path, directed by Isabel Cristina Fragoso, and Telemundo’s The Town Doctor.
Beyond acting, González continues to work across fashion, beauty, and sports, appearing in campaigns for Levi’s, Vogue, ELLE México, Xboom, and Gucci Beauty. She is also sponsored by Brawner Surf Boards.
