Jesse García is a Mexican-American actor, producer, and filmmaker whose career spans acclaimed independent cinema, television, and major Hollywood productions. Most recently, García appears in Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, alongside an extraordinary ensemble cast that includes Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, and Charlize Theron.
García first gained widespread recognition for his breakthrough performance as Carlos in Quinceañera, which won both the Grand Jury Prize and Audience Award at the 2006 Sundance Film Festival and was an official selection of the Berlin International Film Festival. For his performance, García received the ALMA Award for Outstanding Actor in a Motion Picture.
He has continued to build a diverse body of work across film and television. García starred as Richard Montañez in Flamin’ Hot, directed by Eva Longoria, bringing the real-life story of the man behind the iconic product to the screen. He has also appeared in the television series Narcos and Netflix’s The Mother, opposite Jennifer Lopez, along with numerous other film and television projects.
His feature-film credits include A Beautiful Life, Periphery, and Days of Wrath, as well as an appearance in Marvel’s The Avengers. García has also worked behind the camera as a producer, writer, and director, including his short film The Price We Pay, a genre-bending story about a wounded soldier returning home from war.
García also starred opposite Eva Longoria in Disney’s Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Road Trip, playing Frank Garcia, the patriarch of a Mexican-American family on a transformative journey.
Throughout his career, García has gravitated toward stories exploring identity, family, culture, and the Latino experience. His work reflects a commitment to bringing nuanced Latino characters and stories to broad audiences.
