Ana Laura González is one of Mexico’s most accomplished female surfers and a leading voice for the next generation of women in Mexican sport. Originally from Manzanillo, Colima, González began surfing as a young girl and quickly established herself as a formidable competitor, becoming a national champion in the Sub-16 and Sub-18 categories and representing Mexico on the international stage. She went on to earn a ninth-place finish at the ISA World Junior Surfing Championship and compete for Mexico at international events, including the Pan American Games. (youtube.com⁠)

González has also made her mark beyond the water. She became widely known through her participation in the reality competition series Exatlón México, introducing her athleticism and personality to a broad national audience. After injuries interrupted her Olympic pursuits, González transformed those setbacks into a new mission. She founded Mujeres del Mar, a project dedicated to giving young Mexican girls greater access to surfing, professional training, mentorship, equipment, and community.
